“A GOAL WITHOUT A PLAN IS JUST A WISH”
The immediate need is to unify progressives, liberals and anyone who rejects the personality-driven autocracy of the Trump regime and MAGA. At this moment, nothing matters more than the protection and strengthening of our democracy. Concurrent with this effort, progressives must establish a coordinated, national-level media apparatus to counter the destructive influence of Fox News and its imitators.
In the short-term, Democrats absolutely must regain control of Congress in the 2026 mid-term elections. This will allow us to effectively resist, along with the Federal judiciary, the MAGA agenda. The next step is taking back the White House in 2028. Control of Congress and the executive will allow Democrats to enact the legislative agenda detailed on The Agenda page.
The long-term plan is to amend our Constitution and modernize our democracy. The United States has undergone significant cultural, political, geographic, demographic and economic changes since its founding nearly 250 years ago. Our Constitution was always intended to be a living document, one that would be subject to change over time. The Constitution was amended 12 times during the 20th century, but has not been revised in over 30 years. It is past time to reconsider some of its content while adding provisions that will reinvigorate our democracy for the 21st century and beyond.
To do all of this, we need big ideas and strong action. Rather than lurching from election to election with no long-term vision, Democrats must coalesce around an actionable agenda that excites and inspires its constituency for the effort that will be required to permanently secure our freedoms.
